A small world,
closely seen.

Macro and close-up photography from Johannesburg — the overlooked beauty of flora, insects, fungi and the textures we walk past every day.

Leafhopper nymph · Cicadellidae

A Leafhopper Nymph on the sunlit golden petal of a flower.

The project

Beauty rewards the patient eye.

Look Closer began with a simple habit — stopping. The flower you pass becomes a cathedral of colour up close; the beetle on the wall, an engineered marvel. This is a growing collection. Follow along.

01

Photography

Every frame is shot in the field and graded in Lightroom— never staged.

02

Colour

Palettes drawn straight from the subject, archived and named for the moment they were found.

03

The Book

A slow-built coffee-table collection — the long arc of looking closer, in print.
